Pricing Analyst
Description

Pricing Analyst — Franklin Building Supply | Boise, ID | Full-time

Do you see a spreadsheet of transactions and immediately want to know why one customer pays 4% less than another for the same 2x4? We want you.

Franklin Building Supply is a 100% employee-owned building materials company with 650+ employee-owners across 24 locations in Idaho and Nevada. We run lumberyards, retail stores, installation services, and manufacturing for trusses, doors, and cabinets, serving professional builders across the Mountain West.

We're creating our first dedicated Pricing Analyst role. You'll report to our Sales Director, who brings the relationships and market feel. You'll bring the science: the data, models, and insight that help us price smarter, win more of the right business, and stop leaving margin on the table.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your days producing reports nobody reads. You'll work directly with sales leadership, purchasing, and operations to identify opportunities, influence decisions, and measure the results. You'll have the opportunity to help build Franklin's pricing intelligence function from the ground up.

What you'll do:

  • Track competitor and commodity pricing across our markets, where competition and customer expectations differ from region to region, and turn it into clear pricing actions.
  • Own the margin and pricing reports leadership relies on, and find where margin is leaking.
  • Dig into customer and product price sensitivity and elasticity, and build the pricing rules and matrices that follow from it.
  • Recommend price changes with the numbers to back them up, then measure what actually happened.
  • Support our retail team with pricing analysis and competitive checks.
  • Help shape pricing and how customers shop with us, including online.
Requirements

What you'll bring:

  • 2+ years in pricing, revenue management, financial analysis or business analytics.
  • Comfort getting your own data out of a database or ERP, using SQL or a similar query tool.
  • Excel mastery: Power Query, PivotTables, lookups, and scenario models.
  • Power BI or a similar tool: you build dashboards people actually use.
  • Comfort using AI tools to work faster and dig deeper.
  • The ability to translate analysis into plain language for sales teams.
  • A degree in finance, economics, statistics, analytics or similar, or equivalent experience.

Bonus points: building materials, distribution or B2B pricing experience; elasticity modeling or price testing; familiarity with BisTrack; familiarity with lumber markets or e-commerce pricing.
