Position Summary
The Assistant Valet Manager is the "bridge" between the front-line crew and the Valet Manager. While the Valet Manager looks at the week ahead, you are focused on the here and now. In this role, you serve as the operational captain on the driveway. You ensure that every car is parked safely, every key is tracked accurately, and every guest is greeted with urgency. You are expected to lead by example—sprinting for cars during a rush while simultaneously monitoring the team’s performance and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Team Performance: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of valet attendants. You’ll set the bar for "white-glove" service standards and hold the team accountable to them.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols to minimize vehicle damage and workplace injuries. Conduct regular audits of logs, claim reports, and key security.
- Shift Supervision: Act as the "Floor Lead" during peak shifts, directing traffic flow and ensuring attendants are positioned effectively to minimize guest wait times.
- Hands-On Training: Conduct on-the-spot coaching for new hires, focusing on vehicle safety, proper key handling, and the "art of the greeting."
- Damage Control & Claims: Perform initial investigations into any damage claims. Documenting vehicle condition and reviewing surveillance footage is your domain.
- Daily Administration: Assist with scheduling, time-card approvals, and ensuring all equipment (radios, key podiums, and valet software) is functional.
- Service Recovery: Step in immediately when a guest is frustrated. You are the first line of defense in resolving issues before they escalate to the General Manager.
Education and Experience
- 3+ years in valet or hospitality management (luxury mall/hotel preferred).
- Five Year Clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to drive cars with manual and automatic transmission, strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in providing customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in valet management software (e.g., CVPS, SMS Valet) and MS Office
- Strong verbal skills to coordinate with customers and other departments.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Drivers License, required.
