Description
The Landscape Manager leads landscape operations at WindRiver Lakefront & Golf Community. The work covers common areas, landscape services for residents, and landscape installs for new homes. You'll walk sites, build quotes, choose the right plants for each setting, and lead a crew that meets WindRiver's standards for quality and hospitality.
This is a landscape and horticulture role. A separate team manages golf course turf.
Landscape Manager Responsibilities
- Estimate and bid work. Walk sites and build quotes covering materials, labor and equipment for resident and builder projects. Track actual costs against the estimate.
- Select and care for plants. Specify, install and maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and seasonal color suited to East Tennessee conditions. Diagnose and treat pest and disease issues.
- Install landscapes for new homes. Read landscape plans and handle sod, planting, irrigation and hardscape. Coordinate with builders, designers and homeowners, and meet Design Review Board (DRB) requirements.
- Maintain common areas and resident homes. Care for parks, trails, entrances and medians, plus resident lawns and beds: mowing, irrigation, pruning, mulching and seasonal changeouts.
- Lead the team. Schedule, train, coach and review technicians, laborers and seasonal staff. Build a culture of safety and accountability.
- Manage budget and equipment. Oversee labor, materials, purchasing and equipment upkeep (mowers, skid steers, mini excavators, trucks), including daily inspections and fuel logs.
- Stay compliant. Follow OSHA, pesticide application, erosion control and DRB standards.
- Work across WindRiver. Partner with the VP of Operations, New Construction, Member Services, Maintenance and Marketing.
