About Us

Life Couriers is one of the world's most trusted healthcare logistics partners. For more than forty years, we have moved the shipments that cannot be late and cannot fail. These shipments include radiopharmaceuticals with a half-life measured in hours, stem cells travelling from a donor to a waiting patient, investigational product for clinical trials, and therapies delivered directly into the home.

Today we operate in more than thirteen countries, employ around 750 people and handle approximately nine million shipments a year. We are backed by JLL Partners and headquartered in Munich under SLS Group GmbH.

We are organized around four global business units Radiopharma, Point of Care, Emergency and Life Sciences. Each is led globally, each is building at pace, and each is supported by a single international operating model rather than a collection of country businesses. This is a company with four decades of operating credibility and the ambition and ownership structure to move quickly.

Our CARE Values

Our CARE Values are at the heart of how we work and how we lead. Customer Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Enthusiasm shape the way we treat our people, our clients and the patients who ultimately depend on the services we provide.

For this role, living our CARE Values means putting the patient and customer at the center of decision-making, taking ownership for outcomes, building trusted and respectful relationships, and setting consistently high standards across a complex global operation.

We are looking for a leader who not only delivers commercial and operational results but does so in a way that reflects our values, strengthens our culture, and builds confidence with colleagues, customers, and partners.

The Opportunity

Life Couriers is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support corporate governance and legal entity compliance across our United States operations. This is a remote position open to qualified candidates located anywhere in the United States. Reporting directly to the SVP, Global Head of Legal and the Paralegal will take ownership of the administrative and compliance requirements associated with our U.S. legal entities. This includes state registrations, registered agent coordination, annual reports, franchise tax filings, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date corporate records. This role is particularly well suited to a corporate paralegal who has worked within a multi-entity corporate group and understands the importance of maintaining consistent records, meeting statutory deadlines, and coordinating compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will bring structure, visibility, and accountability to our U.S. entity management processes. They will work independently, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers, and establish reliable processes that support the continued growth of Life Couriers.

What Our Business Units Cover

  • Direct-to-Patient: Time-critical, temperature-controlled therapy delivery into the home and the point of care.
  • Clinical Trials: Investigational product, clinical trial samples, central laboratory, and lab-to-lab movements, supporting sponsors and CROs across multiple geographies.
  • Stem Cell: A donor-to-recipient on-board courier service, hand-carried by our own couriers from harvest through to the transplanting physician.
  • Cell and Gene Therapy: Our fastest-growing frontier. Apheresis material, cryogenic shipping, and the advanced therapy supply chain, including the rising demand for on-board courier service through the clinical phase.
  • Across all of it, our definition of time-critical is uncompromising: single shipment, door to door, typically inside 48 hours. This is not freight forwarding and it is not consolidation.

What You Will Do

  • Corporate Entity Management & Governance: Maintain a centralized, accurate, and up-to-date register of all U.S. legal entities, including entity details, registration status, registered agents, filing deadlines, and relevant corporate information, while organizing and retaining complete corporate records, formation documents, certificates of good standing, annual filings, tax-related records, and other governance documentation, and providing executive leadership with timely updates on entity status, outstanding requirements, compliance risks, and upcoming deadlines.
  • State Registrations & Registered Agent Coordination: Manage state registrations and foreign qualifications for U.S. legal entities across multiple jurisdictions by coordinating with registered agents, state filing offices, external legal counsel, and third-party compliance providers; monitoring changes in business operations, entity structures, and state requirements; tracking renewals and statutory obligations; updating entity information; and obtaining, reviewing, and maintaining certificates of good standing and other state-issued documentation to ensure entities remain compliant and authorized to conduct business where required.
  • Annual Reports & Franchise Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation, coordination, and timely submission of annual reports, state franchise tax filings, payments, and other recurring compliance obligations across U.S. entities by maintaining a comprehensive compliance calendar, collaborating with Finance, Tax, and external advisors, retaining supporting documentation and audit trails, researching jurisdiction-specific requirements, and proactively identifying and resolving filing deficiencies, delinquent registrations, and potential compliance risks. For clarity, franchise tax filings in this role refer to state franchise taxes and related corporate entity compliance requirements. This position does not involve franchise law or the legal management of franchised businesses.
  • Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support: Evaluate and improve U.S. entity management and compliance processes by standardizing procedures, maintaining reporting and tracking systems, collaborating with internal departments and external advisors, supporting corporate transactions and audits, monitoring changes in state filing requirements, and safeguarding confidential corporate records.
  • Your First Six Months: The initial priority for this role will be to establish a complete, centralized, and reliable view of Life Couriers' U.S. legal entities and their compliance status in the first six months of employment and audits, monitoring changes in state filing requirements, and safeguarding confidential corporate records.
  • Support Operational Excellence: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support business needs and overall operational efficiency.

Work Location & Schedule: Remote position with typical business hours, with flexibility as needed to complete responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
