Serving Arkansas with excellence for over 50 years, Klaasmeyer Construction Company is looking for our next Aerial Groundhand to join the Aerial Construction team. No experience? No problem. In this entry-level position, you will work alongside our Aerial Linemen building overhead fiber optic and copper networks — setting up pole hardware, clearing brush along the line, and learning the trade from the ground up. We provide the training; you bring the work ethic.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting up and staging pole hardware — brackets, J-hooks, strand clamps, and attachments
- Pulling and clearing brush and vegetation along pole lines and the right-of-way
- Assisting Aerial Linemen with installing overhead fiber optic and copper cable
- Handing up tools, hardware, and materials to linemen working at height
- Helping with cable pulls, lashing setups, pole transfers, and anchor and guy installs
- Loading materials and tools and keeping the job site clean and safe
What We Need From You
- No experience required — we'll train you
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
- OSHA 10 preferred or willing to obtain
- No traffic control or flagger certification needed
- Comfortable working at heights, or willing to be trained
- Reliable, show-up-every-day work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Willing to travel out-of-state for projects when needed — per diem and lodging covered
The Physical Reality
This is outdoor, physical work. You'll be on your feet all day, clearing brush, carrying hardware, and working in all kinds of weather. If you'd rather be outside than behind a desk, you'll fit right in.
- Lifting and carrying equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. regularly; up to 75 lbs. with assistance
- Working at heights of 20–60+ feet from aerial lifts or utility poles, after training
- Walking uneven terrain, including wooded and overgrown areas
- Pulling, cutting, and hauling brush
- Outdoor work in heat, cold, rain, and wind
This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing per company policy.
