Surgery Scheduler | Orthopedics

Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida | Southwest Florida

Behind every successful surgery is a team that makes it happen. Be part of ours.

At Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida (JISF), we know that exceptional surgical care starts long before a patient enters the operating room. It begins with the dedicated professionals who coordinate the details, anticipate challenges, and help patients feel confident and prepared for their procedures.

We're looking for an experienced, highly organized, and motivated Surgery Scheduler who takes pride in getting the details right, enjoys working with physicians and clinical teams, and understands the importance of delivering an outstanding patient experience.

This isn't just about filling a surgical calendar. It's about taking ownership of the scheduling process, building relationships, solving problems, and helping ensure every patient has a smooth path to surgery.

What You'll Do

As a Surgery Scheduler, you'll play a key role in coordinating surgical care while serving as a trusted connection between our patients, orthopedic surgeons, clinical teams, and surgical facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the scheduling process: Coordinate orthopedic surgeries with physicians, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers, ensuring surgical dates, resources, and requirements are aligned.
  • Guide patients through their surgical journey: Explain scheduling timelines, preoperative requirements, and next steps while providing professional, compassionate communication.
  • Keep everything moving: Coordinate preoperative appointments, medical clearances, diagnostic testing, and postoperative visits to help ensure patients are prepared for surgery.
  • Stay ahead of the details: Track outstanding requirements, anticipate scheduling conflicts, and proactively address potential delays.
  • Coordinate surgical needs: Work with clinical teams and surgical facilities regarding necessary equipment, implants, surgical assistants, and special procedural requirements.
  • Partner with our authorization team: Communicate scheduled procedures to the authorization department, monitor approval status, and follow up to ensure authorizations are completed before surgery. When additional documentation is needed, work with the clinical team to obtain it and coordinate rescheduling when necessary.
  • Be the communication link: Keep patients, physicians, clinical staff, and surgical facilities informed of scheduling updates, changes, and important details.
  • Maintain accuracy and organization: Ensure surgical schedules, patient records, and documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained within our electronic medical record system.
  • Deliver an exceptional patient experience: Help patients feel supported and informed throughout the scheduling process while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Why Join Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida?

At JISF, we believe the people behind the scenes are just as important to the patient experience as those providing care in the exam room or operating room.

You'll have the opportunity to work alongside orthopedic surgeons and a collaborative healthcare team where communication, initiative, and attention to detail truly matter.

We're looking for someone who wants to be part of a team, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and finds satisfaction in making a complicated process feel seamless for patients.
