Description

At J Premier Soccer, we believe competitive soccer should challenge young players while helping them build confidence, develop skills, strengthen character, and deepen their love of the game.

J Premier is the competitive youth soccer program of The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City (The J). As the program grows across boys and girls soccer, we are seeking a reliable, development-minded coach to work primarily with players in the U10-U12 age groups.

The selected coach may serve as a head coach or supporting coach based on team needs, experience, licensing, and availability. We are looking for someone who enjoys teaching the game, building relationships, collaborating with other coaches, and helping shape a growing competitive program.

Schedule & Competition

  • Approximately 5-10 hours per week during active programming, primarily on weeknight evenings and weekends.
  • Regular availability for team training, league matches, and selected tournament events; some local and regional travel may be required.
  • J Premier teams compete primarily through Heartland Soccer Association and selected tournament events in the Kansas City region.
  • The competitive program operates across fall and spring, with winter training and additional year-round opportunities through J Soccer.

Benefits

  • $20-$30 / 1 hour session, based on experience
  • Individual membership to The J
  • Coaching curriculum and session plans provided
  • Ongoing coaching mentorship and professional development
  • Opportunities to coach clinics, camps, recreational leagues, and competitive programs

  • Develop players technically, tactically, physically, and socially in a positive, appropriately challenging environment.
  • Teach individual, small-group, and team concepts while helping players understand the game and make decisions independently.
  • Coach league and tournament matches with a player-development focus and appropriate competitive standards.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback and help players identify strengths, areas for improvement, and next steps in their development.
  • Build positive relationships with players, families, and staff through clear, professional communication.
  • Collaborate with J Premier leadership and coaches to create consistency and progression across teams and age groups.
  • Assist with tryouts, player evaluations, clinics, camps, equipment responsibilities, and other J Soccer programming as needed.
  • Represent The J and J Premier with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a player-first mindset.

  • Coaching, playing, refereeing, teaching, or other youth leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and age-appropriate player development.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to continued learning and collaboration.
