The Department of Biological and Physical Sciences at Assumption University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Biology at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2027.
We seek broadly trained biologists who are passionate about undergraduate teaching, research, and mentorship. Our department serves students majoring in Biology, Biotechnology, Neuroscience, and Pre-Clinical Health Sciences, while also providing foundational science courses for students in Nursing, Health Sciences, and other programs.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in microbiology, eukaryotic cell biology, ecology, or evolutionary biology. Through these two appointments, the department seeks to recruit complementary faculty members who will strengthen our curriculum across these areas. The successful candidates must collectively provide expertise in teaching Microbiology, with additional expertise in Cell Biology, Ecology, or Evolutionary Biology.
We welcome candidates whose teaching and research interests bridge traditional disciplinary boundaries and who are enthusiastic about contributing to multiple academic programs. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories, establish sustainable research programs involving undergraduate students, and participate actively in student mentorship and departmental life.
