Role Purpose

BCTS is hiring a Director of Technology Integration to lead the technology side of the company’s acquisitions, from diligence through design and implementation. This is a hands-on technical leader and a senior partner to the Chief Transformation Officer. It is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, delivering through peer IT teams, outside consultants, and acquired-company staff. The role designs integrations, carve-outs, and the integration architecture that supports them. It works alongside the IT Operations, Security, Engineering, and Data & AI teams.

The role sits within the Technology & Transformation Office, part of the broader BCTS Technology team, and works closely with private equity partners and acquired-company leadership, as well as Finance, Operations, HR, and division leadership. The focus is straightforward: understand what BCTS is acquiring, design the simplest integration that works, deliver it on time and on budget, and leave a repeatable playbook behind for the next deal.

Key Accountabilities

Technology M&A: Diligence to Day 100

  • Own the BCTS IT diligence playbook and lead technology diligence on acquisition targets, covering applications, infrastructure, data, security and compliance posture, contracts and licensing, and key-person risk.
  • Translate diligence findings into the integration business case, covering one-time and ongoing IT costs, risk, timeline, and synergies such as license and contract consolidation; present it to executives and the deal team and track results after close.
  • Recommend the right integration path for each deal, either full integration into BCTS infrastructure, business systems, and data, or a standalone model that integrates selected systems and data models into BCTS.
  • Map business processes end to end, such as estimate-to-cash, procure-to-pay, project and job costing, field service, and hire-to-retire, so that system configuration, data, and automation support how the business actually runs.
  • Work with the Finance Technology team to bring acquired companies onto BCTS financial reporting quickly, including chart of accounts mapping, consolidation, and month-end close.
  • Lead carve-out and Transition Services Agreement (TSA) planning, including separation design, TSA scope, third-party contract and license assignments, and exit milestones, and track TSA costs and service levels through exit.
  • Plan Day 1 readiness and data migration, including identity and access, email, data cleansing and mapping, historical data retention, and reconciliation.
  • Apply a working understanding of infrastructure and cybersecurity fundamentals, partnering with IT Operations and external cybersecurity advisors to assess risk before acquired networks and systems connect to BCTS and to set the minimum controls, such as multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, and backups, required on Day 1.
  • Lead design and implementation planning, starting before close within the clean-team rules set by Legal, and hand off a stable, run-ready environment to IT Operations.

Integration Architecture

  • Define BCTS integration standards, patterns, and reference architecture covering APIs, batch and event flows, error handling, monitoring, and security.
  • Design and review integrations across ERP, HRIS, payroll, field service, and other systems, using platforms such as Boomi and Azure and deciding where each integration belongs so the estate stays consistent and supportable.
  • Keep acquired-company data aligned to the BCTS common data model as systems are integrated.

Architecture Leadership

Review application, integration, and infrastructure designs and give clear approval or challenge before decisions are made.

Maintain current-state and target-state architecture views and a log of design decisions. Act as a technical sounding board to the Chief Transformation Officer on platform selection, build-versus-buy, and vendor evaluations beyond M&A.

Delivery & Governance

  • Plan and lead technology workstreams across concurrent carve-outs and integrations, setting priorities by value, risk, and timing, and working with the program management team on dates, risks, and dependencies.
  • Own integration program reporting and financial management, including budget, forecast, and actuals; hold consultants and vendors to scope and approved budgets; and prepare clear updates for executive and board reporting.
  • Lead cutover readiness, contribute to test strategy, and drive integration defect triage through to resolution.
  • Lead change management and communication for technology transitions, working with business leaders to assess impact, plan training and support, sequence cutovers to reduce disruption, and keep executives, acquired-company employees, and partners informed at each stage.
  • Assess the acquired company’s IT team and key people, and recommend retention, roles, and how the team fits into BCTS Technology.
  • Run a post-integration review on each deal and update the integration playbook with lessons learned.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology, integration, or architecture, including 3+ years leading integration or M&A technology work.
  • Proven track record leading change management and communications for enterprise technology transitions, partnering with business leaders to assess impact, design training and support, and sequence cutovers that minimize disruption, while keeping executives, acquired-company employees, and external partners informed at every stage
  • Led IT due diligence and at least one carve-out or post-close integration from start to finish, including a TSA.
  • Strong technical background; able to review solution designs, challenge technical decisions, and hold consultants to quality standards.
  • Deep experience with an integration platform, preferably Boomi; working knowledge of APIs, ETL and ELT, canonical data models, and identity management; and a solid understanding of infrastructure and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Strong grounding in program management, project reporting, and financial management, including budgets, forecasts, and board-level reporting, and an understanding of how deal structure, TSAs, and change orders affect cost and timeline.
  • Experience mapping end-to-end business processes and leading people through system changes with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, construction or service ERP, along with HRIS or payroll systems, Microsoft Azure integration services, and SQL.
  • Degree or diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred
  • Boomi, Azure, TOGAF, or PMP certification.
  • Experience in a roll-up, private-equity-backed, or multi-entity services business.
  • Experience in construction, industrial, or field services environments, including unionized workforces and multi-jurisdiction operations.

Competencies & Profile

  • Hands-on leader. Gets close to the work, understands the details, and stays involved through delivery.
  • Decisive and disciplined. Makes the call on scope, says no to work that is not needed, and stays calm under deadline pressure.
  • Clear communicator. Explains technical risk in dollars and dates, and builds trust with engineers, finance leaders, and division teams.

  • Travel. Willing to travel 30–50% as business needs require.
