POSITION SUMMARY

Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Licensed Psychologist for an on-site position in a correctional/detention setting in Tutwiler, Mississippi.

The position involves psychological screenings, clinical assessments, individualized treatment planning, counseling, crisis intervention, and coordination with multidisciplinary healthcare and facility staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers, and other clinical staff to coordinate treatment and patient care follow-through.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on assessed needs and level of functioning.
• Conduct regular rounds in segregation and other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
• Apply psychological counseling theories and techniques through treatment activities for assigned individuals.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation-avoidance interventions for inmates experiencing crises.
• Consult with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security, and other applicable staff regarding behavioral escalation and changes in inmate mental health conditions.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university. REQUIRED
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state where practice occurs (Mississippi). REQUIRED
• Two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position. REQUIRED
• Valid driver's license. REQUIRED
• Minimum age of 18 years. REQUIRED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Corrections or detention center experience.

• Position requires on-site work in a correctional/detention center housing male and female inmates.
