Job Description Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Department: Therapy Services Reports To: Rehab Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY Responsible for the treatment of residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist to restore, maintain, and prevent decline of resident function by planning and administering medically prescribed Occupational Therapy services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. • Demonstrates ongoing commitment to the Community Eldercare Services mission, vision, and values. • Assists occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for residents. • Leads therapeutic activities and exercises under the direction of the occupational therapists. • Documents and monitors resident progress, reporting any changes to the supervising occupational therapist. • Demonstrates competency in the operation and navigation of the EMR software. • Educates residents and their families on treatment plans and any therapeutic equipment. • Serves as information and education resource for residents, families, physicians, and staff. • Demonstrates current competency applicable to the therapeutic role. • Ensures a safe and clean treatment area for residents. • Additional duties as assigned.
