What we are looking for

We seek a Welder to perform welding operations on specific cast products, including cosmetic weld repairs and rework castings. 

This position requires some prior experience with Tig welders.

What the position will be doing

• Weld castings using a Tig welder.
• Ensure the area to be welded is cleaned by grinding to confirm a proper weld.
• Report any castings that cannot be repaired to the department leader for proper disposal.
• Maintain an appropriate supply of gas, welding rods, and other supplies, and keep the welding area clean.
• Record rework information in the system and submit a record of welded product to QC.
• Conduct rework on castings requiring repairs using air tools and a grinding belt.
• Remove welds and blend in any imperfections.
• Inspect and remove excess material and/or repair casting imperfections.
• Perform the duties of a Packaging inspector when no welding work is available.
• Perform all other job-related tasks as needed or assigned.
• Comply with Company’s safety policies and procedures.

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities

• A high school degree, or equivalent, is required. 
• Previous welding experience with a Tig welder is also required.
• A relentless commitment to safety and quality. 
• A very strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work in a hot manufacturing environment involving metal casting
