EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Chicago, IL · In-office
Impact Genome
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Impact Genome (IG) is a fast-growing SaaS company on a mission to change how the world measures social change. We verify the real-world impact of government programs, NGOs, and nonprofits, helping them prove what works and why.
At the center of our work is the Impact Genome Registry, the first-ever database with outcomes and cost benchmarks from over 2.2 million social programs. Federal, state, and local agencies, as well as Fortune 500 companies, use it to track results, uncover “what works,” and invest where their dollars will have the greatest impact.
For nonprofits, we make evaluation fair, consistent, and less burdensome, so they can spend more time creating change and less time on reporting. Our mission: help the world shift from “giving money away” to investing in proven outcomes that create the maximum possible social good.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This isn’t a typical 9-to-5 EA job. You’ll be the force multiplier behind a founder who is changing how the world funds social change. Jason Saul, our founder and CEO, is one of the nation’s leading experts on measuring social impact. He leads two companies, Impact Genome and Mission Measurement, sits across the table from federal agencies, Fortune 500 leaders, and major foundations, and is a published author and sought-after speaker. He moves fast. We need someone who moves faster.
Are you the person who walks into chaos and starts building systems? Who would rather draft the answer than ask the question? Who gets a real charge out of making a demanding executive’s day run like clockwork, and catches the typo everyone else missed? Keep reading.
As Executive Assistant to the CEO, you’ll own his inbox and calendar, speak for him in writing to senior leaders, prepare him for the meetings that matter, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks. In return, you get a front-row seat to a founder who built the world’s first data standard for social impact, and a role that grows as fast as you can take it on.
This role is based in our Chicago office (Lincoln Park area), fully in person five days a week, and reports directly to the CEO. Travel is likely, up to one or two trips a month.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What you’ll own:
- The CEO’s Inbox. Triage, prioritize, and respond on his behalf, so only what truly needs him reaches him.
- His Calendar and His Time. Be the gatekeeper across both companies. Lock in meetings with clients, government partners, funders, and investors, and decide what gets delegated or gets a polite no, so every hour goes to his highest-impact work.
- His Voice in Writing. Draft correspondence for federal officials, corporate executives, funders, and partners that sounds like him at his best, with zero errors.
- Meeting Readiness. Send the CEO into every key meeting prepared: who he’s meeting, the context, open items, and the goal. Then capture the decisions and chase every commitment to done.
- Answers, Fast. Research, synthesize, and build quick analyses, trackers, and presentations on short notice.
- His Open Threads. Keep him connected with the right people at the right time, keep priorities top of mind, and represent him with sound judgment and discretion.
- Travel, Events, and Logistics. Book travel, run speaking engagements and events end-to-end, and handle documents, e-signatures, purchases, and expenses.
- The System. Build and keep improving the workflows, templates, and trackers that keep everything organized, using AI and automation wherever they save time.
REQUIREMENTS
What you bring:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting a high-velocity CEO, founder, or senior executive
- A Systems Builder. You don’t just keep lists; you build the structure that keeps everything moving. The CEO’s needs change daily, and three things can be “highest priority” at once. That doesn’t rattle you; you adapt, find a way, and keep moving.
- Fast and Flawless. You move at startup speed without making mistakes. Your attention to detail borders on obsessive, and that’s exactly why we want you.
- A Writer Who Catches Everything. Typos don’t get past you. You can write as someone else to a federal official or a Fortune 500 executive, and it lands clear, concise, and sharp.
- AI Fluent and Tech Savvy. Technology is second nature. You use AI and efficiency tools every day, test new ones when there’s a gap, and when you spot repetitive work, your first instinct is to automate it.
- Driven to Build. You take ownership, move without being pushed, and get genuinely excited about helping a founder grow an organization.
- Experience in a startup, high-growth company, or consulting environment
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills and daily fluency with AI tools (we use Claude)
- Poise and discretion with senior leaders and confidential information
- Ambition, relentlessness, commitment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
- Excited to live our core values: we are a team of individuals who are Passionate about Social Impact, are Rigorous, Relatable, Agile, have a Commercial Mindset, and who Challenge Convention
- COVER LETTER REQUIRED: Why are you the right fit for this role?
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Fair warning: this job isn’t for everyone. There are always multiple balls in the air, the CEO’s day doesn’t always end at 5, and the bar for detail is high on every email, invite, and brief. If you want a predictable routine or step-by-step instructions, you won’t find it here.
If you read this and thought, “finally, a job built for how I work,” we want to hear from you. A cover letter is required: tell us why you’re the right fit, and consider it your first writing sample.
Bring your energy, your systems, and your standards. We’ll bring the mission.
