About Tower Extrusions
Tower Extrusions is a growing, privately owned aluminum extrusion manufacturer with a long history of success and continued investment in our people, equipment, and operations.
We're proud of the company we've built and the culture we've created. We believe in working hard, enjoying what we do, and giving good people the opportunity to make a difference.
As we continue to grow and expand our manufacturing capabilities, we're looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and turning ideas into results.
This isn't a position where you'll spend all day behind a desk analyzing spreadsheets. We're looking for someone who wants to understand how things work, identify opportunities to make them better, and help implement practical solutions on the production floor.
Whether you're a recent engineering graduate eager to get your hands dirty or an experienced manufacturing professional with decades of knowledge, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
This position will work directly with our Plant Manager and production teams to improve efficiency, increase throughput, and introduce automation across several downstream manufacturing operations.
The primary focus will be improving our packing operations, with additional responsibilities involving thermal break production and the startup and optimization of our new sublimation line.
You'll have the opportunity to take projects from initial concept through implementation, working with operators, maintenance personnel, equipment suppliers, and management along the way.
Packing Operations — Primary Focus
- Evaluate existing packing processes to identify production bottlenecks and opportunities to increase throughput.
- Develop practical solutions to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary material handling, and optimize labor utilization.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement automation opportunities ranging from simple mechanical improvements to more advanced automated systems.
- Work with equipment manufacturers and vendors to evaluate new technologies, equipment modifications, and potential capital investments.
- Lead improvement projects from concept and design through installation, startup, and performance evaluation.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure improvements are practical, reliable, and sustainable.
Thermal Break Operations
- Analyze existing thermal break processes to identify opportunities for increased throughput and efficiency.
- Evaluate automation, material handling, and equipment improvement opportunities.
- Help improve process consistency, equipment utilization, and overall productivity.
Sublimation Operations
- Develop a thorough understanding of our new sublimation line, including equipment operation, process requirements, and quality expectations.
- Provide technical support during startup, commissioning, and ongoing production.
- Help establish and refine operating procedures and process parameters.
- Identify opportunities to improve throughput, product quality, and process reliability.
- Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting and future process improvements.
General Process Improvement & Project Management
- Identify and prioritize manufacturing improvement opportunities throughout downstream operations.
- Develop project concepts, evaluate costs and benefits, and help justify capital expenditures.
- Coordinate with internal teams and outside vendors to implement equipment and process improvements.
- Promote improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
