The 2024 Summer Internship Program will start on May 28, 2024 and end on August 2, 2024. 


JOB SUMMARY: The Intern position will get a broad exposure to different departments while gaining experience and skills in a professional environment. The internship provides Sitnasuak Native Corporation Shareholders and Descendants with work experience and an opportunity to explore career options with Sitnasuak Native Corporation and it’s subsidiaries.


QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Sitnasuak Native Corporation Shareholder and/or Descendant.

2) High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree).

3) Currently enrolled in a college or vocational school.

4) Must have at least a 2.0 accumulative grade point average.

5) Must be at least 17 years in age.

6) Ability to pass a background check

REQUIREMENTS:

1) A current resume and cover letter is required with the application. The cover letter must include your interest in the internship opportunity, what you hope to gain from the experience, and how this opportunity will benefit you in the future.

2) A copy of unofficial transcript(s).


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Provide administrative and clerical support.

2) Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information.

3) Operates office machines including scanners, facsimiles, copiers, and computers to complete assigned tasks.

4) Create, copy, fax, organize and file documents as needed.

5) Provide support on various projects as assigned by supervisor.

6) Attend trainings and workshops.

7) Compiles data and prepares reports.

8) Perform other tasks as assigned.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The location of the internship is in Nome, Alaska and/or Anchorage, Alaska. Majority of work performed in a professional office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times and depending on the intern position, work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites.


PREFERENCE STATEMENT:

Preference will be given to Sitnasuak Shareholders and their descendants and spouses, and to Shareholders of other corporations created pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, in accordance with Title 43 U.S. Code 1626(g) and Title 42 U.S. Code 2003-2(i).
