Machine Operator 2nd Shift
Description

Meyer Plastics is currently seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our highly skilled team. The starting pay is $16.50/hr and up depending on experience. Machine Operator is a full-time position with a shift from 3pm-11:30pm. This employee will be given thorough training enabling them to be a successful team member. This team member will report to the Shift Supervisor and works closely with Production Managers to maintain a smooth flow of material in all departments.

Specific Duties:



• Check machine parameters before starting production (cutters, oven temperature and thermolator temperature)

• Meet or exceed daily production goals

• Check, verify and write down plastic sheet temperature on production sheet hourly

• Run machine based on parameters established by process plan/machine set-up sheet, and run automated machine

• Begin production and trouble shoot with lead and supervisor if necessary

• Fill out process plan report throughout production of parts

• Notify Supervisor of any defects or problems with parts or material

• Save the material label and put with production work packet for traceability of material

• Perform additional production procedures according to time allocations for process plan

• Makes suggestions for improvements in process

• Responsible for the quality of the product

• Pass on information to next shift such as quality problems or machine problems

• Document problems or adjustment on production sheet for traceability and next shift to see what adjustments have been made to machine and why

• Accurately fill out production cards showing pieces run, time and rejects

• Fills out box label correctly and place on each box as needed

• Verify correct quantity is in box or on pallet

• Proactive good housekeeping procedures on production floor

• Tag all non-conforming material at machine and move to non-conforming area after Supervisor verification. Fill out non-conforming tag and put on product



Requirements

• Ability to work overtime

• Familiar with automated equipment and power tools

• Person in this position has proven that they can produce with minimal supervision. They can set-up and tear down their own jobs and produce good quality parts

• Proven record of safety

• Manual dexterity – lifting (approx. 50 lbs.), bending, twisting

• Good math skills

• Work in multi-cultural environment

• Dependable
