Description
We are seeking a Medical Office Receptionist to become a part of our team!
- Answer very busy multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs yourself.
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data.
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents.
- Process payments from patients for co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and uninsured visits.
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and technician availability.
- Maintain patient records confidentially.
- Schedule patients according to scheduling protocol and only veer from protocol with permission from the Provider or Practice Administrator.
- Ensure all referrals are obtained prior to appointment time.
- Appointment reminder calls
- Collect past due balances
- Travel to other clinic sites as needed (Rarely).
- Report problems, concerns or related issues to the Clinical Manager or Practice Administrator
- Works with the Optician to dispense eyeglasses, contact lens orders, vitamins or eye drops.
- Make appointment reminder calls for all three locations
Polish or Spanish speaking is preferred.
Must have a flexible work schedule.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare required; minimum two years.
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Familiarity with the referral process for HMOs
- Insurance knowledge - Deductibles, Co-pays and Co-insurance is a must
