NC Policy Watch, an award-winning nonprofit newsroom staffed by a diverse team of journalists with decades of experience in dailies, weeklies, and broadcast news, is seeking a Courts, Law & Democracy Reporter to investigate and report on the federal and state judicial systems, criminal and civil justice issues in the North Carolina General Assembly and executive branch agencies, issues related to elections and voting, and other topics. Journalists previously employed in this position have conducted numerous high-impact investigations and broken an array of important stories in such varied areas as prison and jail conditions, public corruption, and legislative redistricting.
NC Policy Watch is an editorially independent project of the North Carolina Justice Center -- a progressive research and advocacy organization dedicated to expanding opportunity and protecting the rights of low-income individuals in North Carolina.
NC Policy Watch is seeking a Courts, Law & Democracy Reporter, to investigate, analyze and report on the federal and state judicial systems. This position will cover criminal and civil justice issues in the General Assembly and executive branch agencies, issues related to elections and voting, and other topics.
