Description

Nickol Global Solutions LLC (NGS) is seeking short-term and long-term Transition and Stabilization Specialists to support various upcoming activities with USG and other donors. This is an ongoing need and specific positions are contingent upon requirements. These mid- and senior-level Transition and Stabilization Specialists may provide services related to technical assistance, operational support, assessments, strategy, analysis, planning, evaluation, and capacity building.


NGS provides a wide range of management consulting and advisory services designed to fortify stakeholder capacity and effectiveness, including in public institutions, civil society organizations, and private sector firms. In the U.S. and overseas, NGS helps public and private sector clients assess and develop capacity; optimize performance and quality objectives; enhance transparency and accountability; measure success; and communicate about their work—all with the aim of advancing development objectives even in the most complex operating environments. NGS is expanding our roster of transition and stabilization consultants to serve in short-term, medium-term, and long-term technical roles. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

NGS will provide quality consultants to deliver technical assistance and operational support to our clients and their programs. Areas of required expertise may include: 

  • conflict/post-conflict analysis 
  • political transitions
  • countering violent extremism (CVE)
  • preventing violent extremism (PVE)
  • stabilization
  • security
  • community development
  • economic development
  • mediation/arbitration
  • conflict resolution
  • democracy and governance
  • international law
  • human rights activities
  • political analysis
  • gender-based violence
  • conflict mitigation and peacebuilding
  • civil society engagement
  • post-conflict reconciliation
  • ICT for development
  • community revitalization
  • crisis communications and media
Requirements
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant stabilization and/or transition experience 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree in the areas of international development, international affairs, political science, public administration, law, or other relevant field (advanced degree preferred but not required) 
  • Prior overseas work experience, particularly with donor-funded international development activities.
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated leadership skills, and ability to take initiative
  • English fluency; proficiency in at least one language other than English preferred
