Residential Direct Support (DSP) & Skills Coach

The ideal Residential Life Skills Coach candidate must be creative, tech-savvy, open-minded, flexible, innovative, and have a passion for helping others. At Waves, we support and advocate for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This is a fun, rewarding job where you will enrich the life of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability by providing care and coaching them through daily life activities while supporting their opportunities to live the life they want to have. This position is under the supervision of the Residential Program Manager.

Base Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour

Shift(s) available: Monday - Friday, 2 pm - 10 pm

Company overview: Waves, Inc. was established by a group of citizens in Fairview, Tennessee in 1973. Beginning with one day program serving six adults, Waves has gradually grown to now serve over 70 adults, and more than 600 children with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Waves is funded by the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, as well as its local community of generous partners and donors.

Requirements
  • High school diploma (or GED) and experience in a related field.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment Criminal Background Report and Drug Screen.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Have a Tennessee driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Intermediate computer skills are required. Staff will use technology for daily documentation and to help the person receiving support to engage in their communities.

Base Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour
