Build the team. Build the playbook. Build what’s next.
Some leaders want a well-oiled machine handed to them. Others want to build the machine. If you’re the second kind, keep reading.
Powerhouse Retail Services has been helping multi-site brands transform their spaces since 2004, from remodels and rebrands to rollouts across hundreds of locations. We’re growing fast, and we need a Vice President of Construction to take our construction portfolio to the next level. You’ll lead large-scale commercial projects, shape how we work, and build the teams and processes that carry us for years to come.
This isn’t a seat-warmer role. You’ll have real ownership, real influence, and a direct line to executive leadership.
What you'll own:
The big picture. Set the strategic direction for our construction portfolio and own the results: delivery, performance, profitability, and execution.
The projects. Steer large-scale work from planning through closeout, covering scheduling, budgeting, procurement, safety, compliance, and everything in between.
The numbers. Build and watch budgets, forecasts, margins, and cash flow. Spot risk early and protect profitability.
The people. Lead, mentor, and grow project executives, project managers, superintendents, and field teams. Set clear expectations and help people do the best work of their careers.
The relationships. Be the go-to executive for clients, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, especially when things get tricky.
The schedule. Make sure projects are staffed right and running on time. When delays or resource crunches pop up, you’re already on it.
The standard. Champion safety, quality, and accountability. Keep every project aligned with codes, contracts, and regulations.
The hard problems. Tackle risks around cost, schedule, scope, labor, and subcontractor performance. Untangle complex contractual issues with a cool head.
The playbook. Create consistent processes, reporting standards, project controls, and metrics that make our work more efficient and predictable.
The growth. Partner with leadership to evaluate opportunities, assess capacity, and chart a path for sustainable growth.
The handoff. Guide estimating, constructability reviews, scope development, and procurement planning so the jump from preconstruction to the field is seamless.
The story. Keep leadership in the loop on portfolio performance, financials, risks, staffing needs, and your recommendations.
