As a Server at Il Rifugio, you are responsible for taking guest orders and serving food and beverage items to tables in accordance with guests’ preferences and A-Basin’s operating procedures to ensure the best guest experience possible.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Follow A-Basin’s service standards including: welcoming customers, seating tables in accordance to a waitlist, bussing tables, running food, pouring beer and wine, and creating specialty coffee drinks
  • Work as a team in order to provide the best service possible
  • Transport dishes, food products, and other materials from back-of-house areas to front-of-house areas
  • Follow F&B cash-handling policies including: proper transaction and change-making procedures and accurate cash drops
  • Complete tasks according to Manager's instruction including: opening and closing procedures, side work, and weekly cleaning tasks
  • Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Make sure all areas are stocked with supplies; notify Manager of any product or equipment needs
  • Help maintain a bussing station that separates waste such as landfill trash, recycling, and compost; educate our guests about A-Basin’s sustainability policies 
  • Set up and break down service areas with little to no supervision if required
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements: 

  • TIPS certification - preferred
  • Barista, beer, and wine knowledge - preferred

Experience Requirements: 

  • Previous F&B experience
  • At least 2 years of previous serving or bartending experience - preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate stairs throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to use full range of motion: bend, twist, kneel, squat, push, pull, throw, carry
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level; must be able to pass a ski/ride test

Other Requirements:

  • Must provide own non-slip footwear
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Must provide own ski and/or snowboard equipment

Work Environment:

  • This position works in a table-service/restaurant environment with most time spent working indoors in a high-altitude      environment at approximately 12,500 feet above sea level. Some work outside in a cold and snowy environment is possible on any given day. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked area in view of guests. This position faces a very frequent amount of high-volume guest interaction. Riding a chairlift and/or snowmobile is required for this role.
