Job Title: Assembly Technician

Reports to: Director of Production Engineering

Location: San Marcos, Texas

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reading and deciphering schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Positioning or aligning components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
  • Using hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Conducting quality control checks.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Preparing work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positioning parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembling components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifying specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolving assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeping equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintaining inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserving resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documenting actions by completing production and quality forms.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a High school diploma or GED.
  • Possesses previous manufacturing experience.
  • Can display mechanical and technical skills.
  • Has a safety management mindset.
  • Possesses dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to move up to 50lbs.
  • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Can wear PPE.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
  • Is capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs.
