We are seeking high performing and motivated Paramedics to join Avon Fire Department to serve an extraordinary community. Our paramedics are Merit Members with promotional opportunities after one (1) year of affiliation.

This process is to establish a hiring list per our Merit Document for current and future openings. We are seeking current paramedics or paramedic students in their Capstone. All Capstone students must be licensed paramedics prior to receiving a conditional offer. Our hiring list will be valid for a minimum of six (6) months with an option for the department to extend it for another six months based on need and size of the list. 

Affiliation Benefits

Paramedics who are already affiliated with Hendricks Regional Health will be subject to the following additional benefits:

• Affiliated 1-year or more, will be hired at full pay and eligible for the Preceptor Program and posted Paramedic Promotion Opportunities. 

or

• Affiliated less than 1-year, will be hired at the 2-year step pay program; and
• Upon completing 1-year of affiliation, will be eligible to participate in the Preceptor Program.
• Upon completing 1-year of affiliation, will be immediately eligible for posted Paramedic Promotion Opportunities.

• Longevity paid is paid in arrears at $1,500 starting year 5. Then $300/year up to $7,500 total.

• With the above EMS experience, Paramedic Capstone students may apply
• State of Indiana EMP-P License or ability to obtain Indiana Reciprocity before hire date
• AHA BLS CPR Healthcare Provider

• No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
