JOB DESCRIPTION AEROBICS INSTRUCTOR
The Aerobics Instructor instructs quality group fitness classes, provides excellent customer service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness in accordance with WCC policies and procedures.
Must be Group Exercise Certified. Additional certifications, such as Spinning or any other discipline, is a plus.
Instructors wanted for morning cardio, senior, or aqua classes.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part Time Hourly
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead quality group fitness classes, as directed by the Aerobics Coordinator, to accomplish the WCC mission and goals.
- Conduct energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.
- Maintain working knowledge of fitness industry and trends to provide effective information and training to members.
- Keep accurate class attendance records.
- Be able to respond and follow WCC policies and procedures in emergency situations.
- Work with supervisor to create seasonal schedule for floor, water, Spin®, specialty and Silver Sneakers™ classes based on interest of member and financial goals of the Whitin Community Center
- Make sure class is covered at all times.
- Make recommendations for purchase of new equipment, repairs of existing equipment, CDs and cleaning of space to supervisor.
- Communicate with supervisor about ideas for new programs, status of classes, and your schedule.
- Maintain all required certifications
- Respond to customer inquiries /concerns

Requirements
Demonstrated customer service skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Required Certifications: CPR, AED, National Certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or related experience
- Certification in area(s) of expertise or related experience in; Spin, Yoga, TRX, Barre, Silver Sneakers, etc.)
- 1 year of experience teaching group fitness classes preferred
- Ability to conduct classes and activities relating to fitness. Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs at a time.

Salary Description
$21 to $23 per hour depending on certification(s)
