Description

This position is a direct hire for International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety (ICCS) , a global non-profit dedicated to the advancement of animal free testing approaches of cosmetics and their ingredients for human health and environmental safety. The membership of ICCS is multi-stakeholder and includes cosmetic manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, NGOs, and research/trade associations. ICCS achieves its mission through research, education, and regulatory engagement. 


General Description and Primary Responsibilities:

  

As a Project Manager at ICCS, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a broad portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that could include coordinating a team of experts, planning and coordinating scientific workshops, managing research projects, and collaborating with external partners to achieve the organization's goals of enhancing cosmetics safety that is protective of human health and the environment.


Position Description:


Project Management:

  • Develop and execute scientific projects related to cosmetics safety testing, cosmetics regulation, and/or education and training initiatives while ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives and industry best practices.
  • Plan and coordinate research, training, and/or education initiatives.
  • Monitor the progress of ongoing projects, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to meet project milestones.


External Collaboration:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and academic institutions to foster collaboration and access to the latest scientific developments.
  • Represent the organization in relevant conferences, symposiums, and industry events to promote the organization's mission and establish thought leadership.


Meeting Coordination and Reporting:

  • Contribute to or lead all aspects of coordinating relevant stakeholder meetings including working group meetings, workshops, conferences, and symposia.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on project outcomes, presenting complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible manner.

Requirements


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as toxicology, ecotoxicology, biology, chemistry, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of non-animal approaches to human health safety assessment and/or environmental hazard, fate and/or risk assessments. 
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in scientific program management
  • Demonstrated initiative and team management skills, with a track record of leading successful projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • A proactive, organized, and detail-oriented approach to project management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and build relationships with external stakeholders.


Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software to interpret and visualize research results effectively.
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder collaborations to address a scientific and/or policy challenge.
  • Knowledge of cosmetics safety regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Work experience with membership or multi-stakeholder organizations.
