EVEN Kitchen & Bar – Bartender & Server


The Bartender & Server at EVEN Kitchen & Bar delivers the EVEN Hotels “Simple, Natural, Good” food and beverage wellness promise by engaging guests, understanding their preferences, and guiding them through menu and market selections.


This is a bartender and server combo position. Team members are expected to perform both serving and bartending duties during their scheduled shift. Responsibilities include assisting guests with tablet ordering, taking and serving food and beverage orders, preparing cocktails, maintaining the beverage station and grab-and-go market, and assisting with meeting setups. When needed, the Bartender & Server may also assist with guest check-in/out and support the Athletic Studio or other common areas.

  • Must be available to work as both a bartender and server
  • AM Shift: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • PM Shift: 4:30 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Must have prior restaurant and bartending experience
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required

Tips

Tips vary depending on the shift and business volume and typically range from approximately $20–$100 per day.

Tips earned during the shift are shared between the server/bartender and the cook:

  • Server/Bartender: 80% of tips
  • Cook: 20% of tips

Key Responsibilities

Financial Returns

  • Engage guests to understand their wellness needs and recommend appropriate menu options.
  • Assist guests with tablet ordering and take food and beverage orders in line with brand standards.
  • Serve food and beverages while providing friendly, efficient guest service.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialty cocktails and cooked-to-order menu items.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize food and beverage revenue.
  • Safely store and manage food, beverage, and equipment inventory.
  • Replenish supplies and report low inventory promptly.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and inventory checks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, guest areas, bar areas, beverage stations, and food prep spaces throughout the shift.
  • Process guest payments accurately and securely.
  • Complete required closing, cash-handling, and reconciliation procedures.

Guest Experience

  • Provide welcoming, attentive, and professional service throughout the guest experience.
  • Respond to guest concerns promptly and follow service recovery guidelines.
  • Seek and use guest feedback to fulfill special requests.
  • Assist guests with menu questions, beverage selections, and wellness-focused options.
  • Share knowledge of EVEN Hotels’ wellness-focused food and beverage offerings with guests and colleagues.
  • Stay current on brand standards, wellness offerings, and menu items.

Additional Hotel Support

  • Maintain and replenish the grab-and-go market.
  • Assist with meeting and event setups as needed.
  • Assist with common-area upkeep.
  • When needed, provide support with guest check-in/out and other front-of-house hotel operations.

Responsible Business

  • Support Green Engage initiatives.
  • Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service requirements.
  • Report safety, health, maintenance, or guest concerns to management promptly.
  • Follow all hotel and brand policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of food service experience and 1 year of bartending experience.
  • Previous experience working in a restaurant, hotel, bar, or similar food and beverage environment.
  • Must be comfortable performing both server and bartender duties.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food handler permit as required by local regulations.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hotel front-of-house food and beverage experience.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and tablet ordering.
  • Formal training in food and beverage production or service.
  • Demonstrated interest in wellness, nutrition, or fitness.
  • Experience with specialty cocktails and mixed beverages.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing and movement throughout the restaurant and hotel.
  • Ability to handle plates, trays, glasses, bottles, and other food and beverage items.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced food and beverage environment for the duration of the shift.
