Description

A GSE Consent Asset Manager manages assets for government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, focusing on consent processes for asset transactions. This role involves collaborating with authorized borrowers, internal/external stakeholders, and investors to process requests effectively. The manager reviews loan documentation to determine diligence needs and evaluates due diligence for lender consent items, drafting narratives to support approvals or denials. Additionally, they prepare risk memos for various consent types, but not limited to, commercial leases, transfer/assumptions, property management changes and loan modifications, ensuring effective asset management and compliance within the GSE framework.

Requirements
  • Consent Management: Facilitate the consent process for asset transactions, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, investors, and external partners to communicate asset status and strategies.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee multifamily loans from application to consent closeout.
  • Documentation Oversight: Manage all documentation requests and checklists, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with asset management.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain contact with customers, providing timely updates on file status to clients and internal teams.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage communication with third-party vendors.
  • Collaboration: Work with GSE Asset Management and the management team to finalize Borrower Request submissions, guidance and procedures for internal and investor review.
  • Quality Assurance: Review submissions for compliance with GSE requirements.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Monitor documentation status and deadlines, providing updates to relevant parties.

Expected Experience, Skills and Education

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or Economics, or 3-5 years in Real Estate, emphasizing risk/financial analysis, relationship management, underwriting, or asset management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; familiarity with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac multifamily platforms is a plus.
  • Market Knowledge: Understanding of real estate markets, particularly multifamily assets.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities; effective liaison with stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Capable of assessing documentation and identifying potential issues; attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
