Asphalt Laborer

Description

We are seeking an Asphalt Laborer to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, and operating hand and power tools
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Gather tools needed for the day
  • Deliver water to the rollers and plate compactors
  • Sweep and rake 
  • Use shovels, rakes, brooms, and/or other hand tools
  • Direct traffic, as needed
  • Assist operator, as needed
  • Assist with minor equipment maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willing to travel/work out of town is required for this position
  • Experience in construction or related industry preferred
  • Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, maintain a good attendance record and willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills to interact at all levels
  • Work overtime, nights, and weekends, as needed
