Hours: 8 Hour Shift, Full-Time, Weekend Availability
Wage: $16.50 - $19.00 an hour
Available Care Shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am
SUMMARY: The Universal Worker is responsible for providing quality care and services to residents while assisting with daily operations throughout the community. This position combines caregiver duties with housekeeping, dining, laundry, and resident support responsibilities to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
The Universal Worker is expected to perform all duties in a manner that promotes resident dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life while supporting the mission and values of the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
• Provide quality care and support to residents while promoting their safety, dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance as needed.
• Perform resident checks, respond promptly to resident needs, and communicate changes in condition or concerns to appropriate team members.
• Assist with meal service, dining support, food preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and maintaining a sanitary environment.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Assist with laundry services, including collecting, washing, folding, and distributing resident linens and personal items.
• Support medication care processes as assigned and within the scope of training and certification requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident care, services provided, and other required records.
• Work collaboratively with caregivers, med techs, and other team members to ensure consistent and high-quality resident care.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established emergency procedures.
• Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with seniors, individuals requiring assistance with daily living activities, or in a caregiving environment preferred.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, complete required documentation, and maintain accurate records.
• Demonstrates reliability, dependability, and the ability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as needed.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and respond appropriately to changing resident and community needs.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for resident rights and dignity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, transferring, and assisting residents as needed.
• Must successfully complete all required training, certifications, and competency evaluations as required by the Company and applicable regulations.
• Must pass any required background screening and meet all employment eligibility requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works in a senior living community, including Assisted Living and Memory Care environments.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, cleaning products, and kitchen equipment.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts based on operational needs.
