Sous Chef
Grand Villa of Sarasota is seeking a dedicated and talented full-time Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at our beautiful senior facility in Sarasota, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of our residents through exceptional meal preparation and kitchen management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and quality control
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety and sanitation standards
- Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional guidelines and cater to residents' dietary needs
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to maintain budgetary goals
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold high standards of culinary excellence and teamwork
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and appealing meal options for residents
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Creativity in menu planning and presentation
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
