Description

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Technician supports Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants in delivering quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, the role will assist with operational tasks including patient intake and preparation, observation and documentation, among other clinic maintenance responsibilities.


Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM 

Compensation: Starting compensation range is $21.00-$23.00 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting Physical Therapists in preparing treatment area, equipment, and materials for patient care.
  • Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
  • Under the direction of the Physical Therapists, assisting patients with exercises (in addition to walking, sitting, standing, etc.), helping with transfers, and providing support during treatments.
  • Educating patients regarding physical therapy treatments and exercises, including proper use of equipment.
  • Observing patients performing prescribed physical exercises and immediately reporting concerns.
  • Documenting patients' responses to treatment and updating patient files.
  • Performing basic prescribed treatments such as applying ice packs or heat pads as instructed.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and therapy areas, ensuring clinic is in compliance with safety and sanitation protocols
  • Performing administrative tasks, including ordering supplies, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments as necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Outpatient or previous healthcare setting experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish required
