Manual Machinist
Description

 

We are seeking an experienced Manual VTL Machinist to join our team. This role requires advanced knowledge of manual machining processes, the ability to produce complex precision parts independently, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. The ideal candidate can work from prints with minimal supervision and contribute to problem-solving on the shop floor.


Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate manual VTL,s
  • Machine complex parts to tight tolerances based on blueprints and specifications
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints and job travelers
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for efficient production
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Diagnose and resolve machining and tooling issues
  • Maintain accuracy, quality, and productivity standards
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a manual machinist
  • Strong knowledge of manual machining practices and shop math
  • Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and machine complex components
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges)
  • Experience machining a variety of materials including steel, and stainless
