Description

JOB SUMMARY: Are you passionate about helping children and families heal and thrive? Join SPCC as a Clinician in our Therapeutic Visitation Program (TVP). In this role, you will provide counseling and support to children and parents impacted by trauma, separation, and high-conflict custody. Using attachment theory and trauma-informed practices, you will promote healing within the family system and strengthen relationships. You will also mentor interns, collaborate with professionals across systems, and may co-facilitate a 12-week parenting group (PREPARE).  RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide therapeutic counseling to children and parents during supervised visits, using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
  • Conduct intake, assessment, treatment planning, and maintain accurate case documentation and reports, including court reports.
  • Support parents with conflict mediation, safety planning, and referrals as needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, caseworkers, attorneys, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Mentor and guide program interns through training, observation, and partnership.
  • Co-facilitate PREPARE parenting group cohorts as needed.
Requirements

  QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or related field.
  • At least two years of clinical experience with children and families.
  • Currently licensed in New York State in an appropriate mental health discipline or hold an active New York State limited permit at the time of hire.
  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement preferred.
  • Knowledge of child maltreatment, neglect, trauma, and high-conflict custody.
  • Experience in Infant-Parent Psychotherapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, or Creative Arts Therapy preferred.

Salary Description
$26.00-29.41 per hour
