At Northfield Park Racino, the Internal Auditor is responsible for performing audits to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable gaming regulations. This position assists in evaluating operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and internal control integrity across all departments. Additional responsibilities include analyzing marketing promotions and special events for cost effectiveness and compliance with regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

Assists with planning and implementing an audit schedule designed to provide sufficient coverage of all operations. 

• Measures, analyzes, and reports on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Assists the Manager of Internal Audit in determining operational and control weaknesses and recommends solutions. 
• Evaluates financial statements to identify trends and recommend profit improvement opportunities.
• Perform analysis of marketing promotions and special events for cost effectiveness. 
• Completes special projects as assigned by senior management. 
• Assists with or participates in training department leaders on internal control procedures.
• Prepares recommendations to correct control deficiencies and supports management in implementing improvements while maintaining professional, positive relationships with all departments.
• Attends periodic meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Three or more years of applicable experience, Associates or above degree preferred, or combination of experience and education.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Strong background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques.
