The Office of Athletics Communications is seeking motivated and reliable students to assist with all aspects of home game day operations. Student Assistants play a vital role in supporting athletic events through statistics, media operations, broadcasting, and in-venue production. No prior experience is required for most positions; training will be provided.

Positions are available throughout the academic year and summer, with opportunities to work weekday and weekend games.

Job Duties

• Student Assistants may be assigned to one or more of the following roles:
• Spotter/Caller: Assist with statistical compilation by calling out play-by-play during games
• Scoreboard Operator: Operate the scoreboard and game clock; work closely with the statistician to ensure accuracy
• Music Operator: Manage in-game music and sound elements
• Camera Operator: Operate cameras for live or recorded game coverage
• Video Stream Operator: Operate live streaming video equipment during games
• Broadcast & Play-by-Play Announcer: Provide live commentary for games
• Public Address Announcer: Make official announcements during contests

General duties include recording statistics, operating scoreboards and game clocks, camera operation, video streaming, and public address announcing. Knowledge of sports and rules is helpful but not required.

Required Qualifications

• Availability to work games on weekdays and weekends
• Willingness to work flexible schedules; game dates and times are subject to change
• Ability to work more than one role during a game, as needed
• Must arrive 30–45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of assigned contests
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience preferred for Broadcasting & Play-by-Play Announcer positions
• Interest in athletics, media, broadcasting, or communications

• Regularly required to remain seated for extended periods
• Occasionally required to stand for long periods
• Regularly required to move about and maintain balance while walking, standing, crouching, or running
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
• Regularly required to speak and hear clearly
• Regularly required to use hands to grasp, type, pick up, move, or hold objects
• Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds for distances of up to 10 feet
