About the Role

We're seeking a PowerFlex & VMware Virtualization Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) at Fort Belvoir, VA. You'll design, deploy, and operate Dell PowerFlex software-defined storage and VMware virtualization infrastructure in a high-security, mission-critical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology supporting national defense priorities.

What You'll Do

• Engineer and operate Dell PowerFlex storage systems integrated with VMware vSphere environments supporting defense missions
• Design highly available storage and compute solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
• Execute storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance tuning for mission-critical workloads
• Perform VM migrations, lifecycle management, and infrastructure upgrades with zero downtime
• Implement DISA STIGs and security hardening across storage and virtualization platforms
• Collaborate with network, application, and security teams to deliver integrated infrastructure services
• Develop technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to government staff

Required:

• Active TS/SCI clearance (must be current)
• 5+ years VMware vSphere engineering/administration experience
• 3+ years Dell PowerFlex or comparable SDS platform experience (design, deployment, operations)
• Strong storage architecture knowledge: block/file storage, multipathing, performance optimization
• Experience with VM workload migrations (vMotion, Storage vMotion)
• DoD or federal customer support experience in secure environments
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• U.S. citizenship

Preferred:

• Dell PowerFlex or VMware certifications
• Automation/scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
• Prior DTRA or defense agency experience
• Knowledge of RMF and federal security frameworks
