About CIP Retail
CIP Retail is a full-service firm that designs, engineers, manufactures, and installs custom interior décor, signage, and millwork for major retail brands across the country. We've been doing this for 50 years — and we're still growing. Our work shows up in the stores of some of the biggest names in retail, built by a team of 85 people who take real pride in what they make.
The opportunity
We're looking for a Purchasing & Inventory Specialist who wants to do more than process purchase orders. This is a role where you'll be involved in the procurement cycle end-to-end — building vendor relationships, keeping our supply chain sharp, and making sure our production floor always has what it needs.
You'll also be part of something most purchasing professionals don't get: a ground-up ERP implementation. We're standing up a new system, and you'll help build clean data and efficient processes from day one — not just work within a system someone else built.
If you're someone who likes to solve problems, build better ways of doing things, and see the direct impact of your work, this is a high-visibility role in a company that's been around long enough to be stable and small enough that your work actually matters.
What you'll do
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships — quality materials, on-time deliveries, and strong long-term partnerships
- Issue purchase orders, verify pricing, and confirm delivery commitments
- Monitor stock levels and reorder materials to prevent shortages or overstock
- Coordinate with production teams so materials are available when and where they're needed
- Resolve issues related to quality, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delays
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Generate inventory reports and present findings to management
- Help maintain accurate records during and after ERP system implementation
- Support a product storage transition back to our Fairfield facility
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and storage organization
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control — manufacturing preferred, but other industrial or production environments are welcome
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus, but not required)
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with inventory data and turning it into clear recommendations
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball
- Clear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary: $65,000 – $75,000
- Annual incentive bonus program
- 401(k) with company match
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- HSA / FSA
- Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
- PTO + paid holidays
This position is 100% on-site in Fairfield, OH. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Relocation assistance and employment sponsorship are not available.
