Overview
The Site Safety Coordinator supports safe execution across active construction jobsites by ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, company safety policies, and project-specific requirements.
This role serves as a visible, field-based safety presence and works directly with Operations, Project Management, Superintendents, and Foremen to proactively identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and reduce risk across crane, rigging, and steel erection activities.

Key Responsibilities
Jobsite Safety Execution and Compliance
- Conduct daily jobsite safety walks to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Enforce compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements
- Monitor high-risk activities including crane operations, rigging, steel erection, fall protection, and material handling
- Verify proper use of personal protective equipment, barricades, signage, and controlled access zones
Field Engagement and Safety Leadership
- Lead daily safety huddles and weekly toolbox talks
- Provide real-time coaching and reinforcement of safe work practices
- Partner with Foremen and Superintendents to ensure Job Hazard Analyses are completed, reviewed, and followed
- Promote a safety culture where employees are empowered to identify and report hazards
Planning and High-Risk Activity Support
- Participate in pre-task planning and pre-lift meetings to ensure alignment on roles, responsibilities, and risk controls
- Verify rigging equipment is inspected, rated, and appropriate for planned lifts
- Support implementation of site-specific safety and emergency response plans
Incident Reporting and Risk Reduction
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis
- Track corrective actions and ensure timely follow-up and closure
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, near misses, and safety observations
Safety Documentation and Recordkeeping
- Maintain daily safety reports, inspection logs, and hazard assessments
- Track training certifications, equipment inspections, and compliance records
- Ensure documentation aligns with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30 Hour Construction Certification required
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30 Hour Construction Certification required
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration 510 Construction Certification preferred
- First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification required
- Minimum 2 years of construction site experience required
- Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration construction standards (29 CFR 1926)
- Exposure to crane operations, rigging, steel erection, or heavy construction environments preferred
- Must be willing and able to work around cranes, rigging operations, and steel erection activities, including elevated work environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence field teams
- Ability to work in active construction environments including heavy equipment operations and changing jobsite conditions
- Ability to travel to jobsites within approximately a 75-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia
- This position requires regular, in-person presence at local jobsites in the Atlanta area.
