Role Summary

Symmetry Anesthesia is hiring an experienced Credentialing Specialist to own end-to-end provider credentialing and privileging for anesthesiologists and CRNAs across multi-site hospital and ASC programs. This role is hands-on: building clean files, driving credentialing deadlines, coordinating hospital privileges, managing recredentialing, and proactively removing barriers to start dates and revenue capture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provider credentialing & enrollment (core)
  • Manage end-to-end credentialing for physicians and CRNAs, including primary source verification and complete file assembly.
  • Coordinate facility privileging and medical staff onboarding requirements (applications, verifications, committee cycles, supporting documents).
  • Own recredentialing / reappointment calendars; ensure zero lapse in participation or privileges.
  • Roster management & participation maintenance
  • Maintain accurate provider demographic, licensure, DEA, board, malpractice, and privileges data across internal platforms and external portals.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle/Billing to resolve credentialing-related claim denials and “not credentialed/participating” issues.
  • Operational excellence & audit readiness
  • Maintain credentialing documentation to meet internal policy, payor requirements, and facility standards.
  • Build and improve SOPs, checklists, and templates; ensure consistent, repeatable processes across sites.
  • Prepare reporting (weekly dashboards) on pipeline status, risks, and start-date readiness.
  • Stakeholder communication
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for providers, facilities, and internal leaders.
  • Communicate clearly on timeline, missing items, risks, and escalation needs (without surprises).

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in healthcare administration, business, or related field
  • 2–5+ years of credentialing experience, preferably in anesthesia or multi-specialty medical group settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in hospital privileging, payer enrollment, and licensure requirements
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational skills, communication, and detail-oriented skills

Requirements
  • 2–5+ years of healthcare provider credentialing experience (physicians strongly preferred; anesthesia is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to manage high volume with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in credentialing software (e.g., MD-Staff, symplr, Modio, etc.) for document management, proactive tracking, and status reporting.
  • Comfort working remotely with high accountability and responsiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred (or actively pursuing).
  • Experience supporting multi-site medical groups and coordinating with hospital medical staff offices (MSOs).

Key Competencies

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Clear, professional, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards
  • Solution-oriented and process improvement mindset
