Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for reshelving of books, shelf reading, and scanning materials


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reshelving books 65% - reports to the circulation manager any on-going issues regarding interfiling errors. Maintain neatness and organization of the reshelving area
  • Scanning materials as needed 20%
  • Shelf reading/straightening 10%
  • Other duties as required by supervisor 5%


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Familiarity with Library of Congress call numbers
  • Dependable, flexible, able to take direction, interacts well with co-workers and library patrons


Working Conditions

  • Various shifts cover all hours the library is open which may include opening and closing the library. 
  • Up to 10 hours per week total depending on demand.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.), pushing of carts (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and stooping required. 
  • This in an on-campus position.
