POSITION TITLE: Executive Director

DEPARTMENT: Administration

REPORTS TO: Regional Director of Operations 

POSITION SUMMARY:


 Keepsake Village at Greenpoint, a 56-bed Memory Care Community located in Liverpool, NY, is seeking a dynamic, business-minded Executive Director to lead all aspects of community operations. The Executive Director serves as the senior leader of the community and is responsible for operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, census growth, quality outcomes, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and the overall success of the community. The ideal candidate is a strong, independent leader with proven operational and financial acumen, a demonstrated history of successful regulatory surveys, and the ability to build high-performing teams through collaboration, accountability, and strategic thinking.


RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES


Operational Leadership

  • Provides overall leadership and direction for all community operations, ensuring excellence in resident care, customer service, employee engagement, and financial performance.
  • Leads through partnership and collaboration with department directors, including Nursing, Activities/Life Enrichment, Food Services, Maintenance, Business Office, and Sales & Marketing.
  • Establishes a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and resident-centered care throughout the organization.
  • Serves as the primary decision-maker for the community and demonstrates strong independent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Develops and executes strategic operational plans to achieve organizational goals and improve community performance.

Financial Management & Budget Accountability

  • Maintains full responsibility for the community's financial performance, including budget development, expense management, labor management, and revenue optimization.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial reports, operating statements, labor metrics, and key performance indicators to ensure fiscal responsibility and achievement of budgeted goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies while maintaining exceptional resident care and service standards.
  • Partners with Regional Leadership to develop action plans to address budget variances and achieve financial targets.

Census Development & Resident Retention

  • Maintains accountability for census growth, occupancy goals, admissions, discharges, and resident retention.
  • Partners closely with Sales & Marketing to develop and execute strategies that drive occupancy and strengthen community reputation.
  • Supports a seamless move-in process and ensures residents receive quality services that promote successful aging in place whenever possible.
  • Monitors resident acuity and service needs to ensure appropriate care delivery while maximizing resident satisfaction and retention.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintains overall responsibility for compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations governing assisted living and memory care operations.
  • Ensures continuous readiness for surveys, inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Demonstrates a proven record of achieving successful survey outcomes and maintaining strong regulatory performance.
  • Leads the development, implementation, monitoring, and auditing of Plans of Correction following surveys, audits, or identified deficiencies.
  • Oversees quality assurance and performance improvement programs, utilizing data-driven approaches to identify opportunities and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Ensures all required documentation, policies, procedures, and records remain current and compliant.

Resident Care & Service Excellence

  • Ensures residents and families receive the highest quality services in a compassionate, dignified, and person-centered environment.
  • Oversees the coordination of resident care and services to ensure resident needs are met effectively and safely.
  • Promotes an environment that supports resident independence, engagement, well-being, and quality of life.
  • Ensures services are designed to support residents aging in place whenever clinically appropriate.

People Leadership

  • Recruits, develops, coaches, and retains high-performing department leaders and staff.
  • Holds leaders accountable for departmental goals, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.
  • Actively recognizes and rewards exceptional performance while providing coaching and development opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures the community is appropriately staffed with qualified personnel to meet resident needs and operational requirements.

Community Relations & Business Development

  • Serves as an ambassador for the community within the local market and professional networks.
  • Participates in community outreach, business development, marketing initiatives, and relationship-building activities to strengthen community presence and reputation.
  • Supports recruitment efforts and workforce development initiatives to maintain staffing stability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Executive Director, Administrator, or senior leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Senior Housing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, labor costs, financial performance, and occupancy growth.
  • Proven history of successful regulatory surveys and sustained compliance outcomes.
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives, implementing Plans of Correction, and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective operational strategies.
  • Independent thinker with excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple departments while balancing resident care, employee engagement, operational performance, and financial success.

  •     Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  •     Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

  •     Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
  •     Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents
  •     Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  •     May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Salary Description
$70,000 - $90,000
