Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Diagnoses, repairs, and refurbishes geotechnical drilling tools and equipment returned from the field, ensuring all repaired units meet performance and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect returned drilling tools and equipment to assess damage and repair requirements
- Disassemble, clean, and evaluate components for reuse or replacement
- Perform mechanical repairs including threading, welding, and machining coordination
- Reassemble and test repaired equipment to specification
- Document repair findings, parts used, and labor on work orders
- Communicate repair status and lead time to service manager
- Maintain repair shop tools and equipment
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years mechanical repair or field service experience
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with geotechnical or directional drilling equipment
- Welding or machining skills
- NDT certification
