Description

 POSITION SUMMARY 

Diagnoses, repairs, and refurbishes geotechnical drilling tools and equipment returned from the field, ensuring all repaired units meet performance and safety standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Inspect returned drilling tools and equipment to assess damage and repair requirements 
  • Disassemble, clean, and evaluate components for reuse or replacement 
  • Perform mechanical repairs including threading, welding, and machining coordination 
  • Reassemble and test repaired equipment to specification 
  • Document repair findings, parts used, and labor on work orders 
  • Communicate repair status and lead time to service manager 
  • Maintain repair shop tools and equipment 
Requirements

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • 3+ years mechanical repair or field service experience 
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience with geotechnical or directional drilling equipment 
  • Welding or machining skills 
  • NDT certification
