In addition, Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department, to help credentialed technicians achieve your goals, supported by two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) Heather Carter and Christine Weaver . Our Training Department has an impressive track record of helping Technicians achieve advanced certifications such as a VTS, CVPP, and/or CVRP.
To set you up for success from day 1,
- We gift you a *wellness week of PTO after 90 days in your position. This includes 30-40 hours of extra time off dependent upon your weekly schedule. What does your day look like at Partner?
As an ICU Licensed Veterinary Technician, your focus is providing exceptional nursing care to critically ill and hospitalized patients. You will monitor and manage complex medical cases, perform advanced patient assessments, administer medications and blood products, maintain critical care equipment, and collaborate closely with veterinarians to implement treatment plans. From patients requiring oxygen therapy and intensive monitoring to those recovering from surgery or managing life-threatening conditions, no two days are the same. You'll utilize your technical skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail to recognize subtle changes in patient status and help drive the best possible outcomes for your patients.

Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes:
- Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration
- Unique support roles that enable our team to practice at your highest level
Ample fluid pumps, syringe pumps, and monitoring equipment to enable quality patient care - Scribes document exams and facilitate discharging appointments
- Onsite advanced diagnostics, such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy and more
- Current veterinary technician license/registration in good standing, or eligible for transfer to Virginia.
- Minimum of 1 year of veterinary emergency and/or intensive care (ICU)(CCU) experience or combination.
- VTS in ECC preferred
- Strong knowledge of critical patient monitoring, anesthesia, pain management, and nursing care.
- Ability to recognize changes in patient status and communicate concerns promptly to the medical team.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional patient care.
Physical Requirements (ability to):
- Ability to quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
