Description
The Joint Warfighting & Doctrine Instructor serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead instructor for joint warfighting and doctrine coursework. The Joint Warfighting & Doctrine Instructor understands military doctrine that prioritizes the integration of the different branches of the country's armed forces into a unified command.
Duties
- Designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates instructional programs that prepare Airmen and Guardians to operate effectively in joint, combined, and multi-domain environments
- Possess strong foundation in joint military doctrine, warfighting concepts, and adult learning theory
- Translates complex operational concepts into structured, engaging, and measurable instructional content
- Collaborates closely with military cadre, civilian faculty, curriculum developers, and higher headquarters to ensure instruction is current, relevant, and aligned with Joint and USSF doctrine and policy
Skills & Knowledge Areas
- Comprehensive knowledge of current joint doctrine, CJCS instructions, and Air Force/Space Force doctrine applicable to joint warfighting and multi-domain operations
- Skill in delivering effective instruction to military adult learners using a variety of pedagogical approaches (lecture, seminar, scenario-based, simulation), with the ability to adapt to diverse student backgrounds, learning styles, and experience levels.
- Knowledge and experience with joint operations, or planning processes
- Ability to apply instructional design principles or adult learning methodologies
- Proven ability to use instructional technology, learning management systems (LMS), or simulation-based training platforms
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of Joint Warfighting and doctrine development experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years as an instructor or five (5) years as a briefer/public speaker
- Experience in Joint Operations within the last 10 years
- Graduate of Joint PME Phase II/Staff College/War College
Desired Qualifications
- Prior military service with assignment to a joint command, combatant command staff, joint task force, or equivalent joint organization
- Operational experience in a joint operational planning role (J2, J3, J5, or equivalent) at the O-4/GS-12 level or above
- Experience in Combatant Command, Service, or National level strategy and policy review and analysis
- Experience instructing at a military schoolhouse, Staff/War College, or other formal military education institution
- Familiarity with Air Force Education & Training course development and management processes
- Knowledge of Space Force doctrine and the multi-domain operations (MDO) framework as applied to contested space and cyberspace environments
Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in International Relations, National Security, STEM, or Space related studies
Clearance Level: TS/SCI clearance eligibility is required
