Trans Lease is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Lead to support the day-to-day operations of our accounting department. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who wants to take on a working-lead position, mentoring teammates, keeping core processes running smoothly, and helping organization with audit coordination, while continuing to grow toward broader accounting leadership. You'll work closely with the Assistant Controller, VP of Finance, and the accounting team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across daily accounting functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Review and reconcile accounting schedules and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Support the annual audit and bank audit process by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with the preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts.
- Allocate and coordinate daily tasks among accounting staff to help ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and act as a resource for accounting staff on assigned tasks.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on accounting software, including subledger.
- Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions as needed.
- Help ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing modern accounting systems and automation tools.
- Serve as a point of contact between the accounting team and department leadership on routine matters.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Must be able to communicate, providing verbal and written feedback in a professional manner.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–6 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new concepts, software, and procedures.
- Valid driver's license with an MVR in good standing.
- Demonstrated abilities in these areas: organization, accounting, strong data entry skills, strong math skills, utilization of multiple financial software systems, analyzing financial data, attention to detail, thoroughness, communication, and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Banking, accounting firm, or leasing industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical, and drug screening.

- Compensation Range: $75,000 – $110,000
- Reports To: VP of Finance
- Shift: M–F 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
