IYRS School of Technology & Trades is seeking a hands-on, technically proficient instructor to teach robotics, CAD/CAM, CNC machining, and digital fabrication in our innovative Digital Modeling & Fabrication (DMF) program. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator, technical trainer, manufacturing professional, engineer, or skilled trades expert who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others succeed.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities 

  

Teaching & Workforce Development

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in CAD/CAM, CNC machining, robotics, digital fabrication, and related technologies. 
  • Guide students through projects, demonstrations, labs, and individualized coaching. 
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop and deliver workforce training programs. 
  • Support industry certification programs and skills-based training initiatives. 
  • Help students connect classroom learning to real-world manufacturing applications. 

Program & Curriculum Development

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of curriculum and training programs. 
  • Work with faculty, industry advisors, and employers to keep course content aligned with evolving workforce needs. 
  • Assist in evaluating student learning outcomes and program effectiveness. 

Lab & Equipment Management

  • Support the safe operation and maintenance of fabrication equipment and teaching labs. 
  • Help maintain equipment, materials, and inventory needed for instruction. 
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous learning. 


What We're Looking For


Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in advanced manufacturing, robotics, CNC machining, digital fabrication, technical training, education, engineering, or a related field. 
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: 
  • CNC machining
  • CAD/CAM
  • Robotics or automation
  • 3D printing
  • Laser cutting
  • Digital fabrication technologies
  • Experience teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, or presenting technical concepts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to safe shop and laboratory practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks, Rhino, Mastercam, or comparable CAD/CAM software. 
  • Experience with industrial robotics systems such as FANUC. 
  • Prior instructional or curriculum development experience.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or other learning management systems.

Schedule

This position is primarily focused on incumbent workforce training.  Training programs, special events, and industry initiatives will on occasion require evening or weekend teaching duties.
