Description

The Remote Sensing Project Coordinator is an office-based role that provides technical and administrative support to the Remote Sensing Project Lead across the full lifecycle of remote sensing projects. This role handles initial RFP review, subcontractor coordination, flight release, work order creation and management, and subcontractor invoice approvals, while also assisting with proposal structure and pricing setup, FAA airspace review, and evaluation of technical approaches for new projects. The Project Coordinator also provides administrative support to the Remote Sensing Manager and the Director of Remote Sensing.

Requirements

Job Duties:

  • Conduct initial review of incoming RFPs for remote sensing projects and summarize scope, requirements, and key dates for the Project Lead.
  • Coordinate with aerial and ground subcontractors on flight scheduling, availability, and mobilization logistics.
  • Release flights and flight requests in coordination with UAS and production teams.
  • Create and manage work orders for internal production staff and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and agreement with contracted scope.
  • Set up basic proposal structure and preliminary pricing for the Project Lead's review and finalization.
  • Review FAA airspace classifications and restrictions for planned missions and flag issues prior to acquisition.
  • Evaluate and recommend best technical approaches and data collection methods for new project opportunities.
  • Support the Remote Sensing Manager and Director of Remote Sensing with administrative tasks and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate project, subcontractor, and work order documentation and records.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination between Project Leads, subcontractors, and production staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of administrative, coordination, or project support experience, preferably in remote sensing, geospatial, surveying, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of remote sensing or UAS industry terminology and workflows sufficient to review RFPs and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors or subcontractors, including scheduling and invoice review.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and standard business/project tracking software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced office environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with FAA airspace classifications and UAS/Part 107 operational basics.
  • Experience with proposal preparation and pricing structures.
  • Familiarity with LiDAR and aerial imagery data acquisition workflows and deliverables.
  • Experience across multiple market verticals including power delivery, renewables, and DOT.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, geomatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
