The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the apartment community looks its very best at all times and operates smoothly by performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: electrical, light carpentry, HVAC, and plumbing.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of all properties in the portfolio, including general maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, finish work, and grounds.
  • Inspect vacant units and prepare for new residents.
  • Provide exceptional service to current, future, and past residents at all times.
  • Provide care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
  • Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the properties or residents.
  • Maintain the required uniform and ensure a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Stay informed of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of management company policies.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

FLSA STATUS: Full-time, non-exempt employee

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent is required; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to regularly participate in on-call rotation, and occasionally work weekends, overtime hours or some time on a holiday.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and criminal background check.
  • Extensive experience with HVAC repair and maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair required.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
