As a First Shift Production Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily manufacturing operations, developing production team members, and driving performance across safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost objectives.
What You'll Do
As a Production Supervisor, you'll provide leadership and direction for your assigned production area while ensuring operational goals are achieved every day.
Production & Operational Leadership
- Lead daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
- Coordinate staffing, work schedules, and production priorities to meet customer demand.
- Monitor workflow, production output, and operational performance metrics.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, safety updates, and business priorities.
- Ensure production standards and delivery commitments are consistently achieved.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and lead root cause investigations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and sustainable solutions.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools and problem-solving methodologies to enhance performance.
Team Development & Engagement
- Coach, mentor, and develop production employees to build technical skills and career growth opportunities.
- Support onboarding and training programs for new team members.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and recognition.
- Promote employee engagement while supporting individual and team success.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company safety programs.
- Enforce quality standards, work instructions, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Model ethical leadership and behavior consistent with The Gund Company's values and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure a safe and productive work environment for all team members.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and motivate employees.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience leading production teams and achieving operational performance goals.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and production management tools.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis using tools such as:
- 5 Why Analysis
- Fishbone Diagrams
- Kaizen Methodologies
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant manufacturing experience may be considered.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a manufacturing environment.
Team members should be comfortable working in:
- A non-climate-controlled production facility
- Conditions influenced by outdoor temperatures
- Areas with manufacturing noise, dust, and fumes
- Environments requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary

Physical Requirements
This role requires regular standing, walking, and interaction with production equipment and personnel.
Candidates should be able to:
- Frequently move throughout the production floor
- Use hands and arms to perform work-related tasks

- Communicate effectively with employees and leadership
- Visually inspect work and adjust focus as needed
